Early Printed Books

Collection of medical treatises, by Johannes Afflaticus, Isaac Judaeus (work translated by Constantinus Africanus), Bartholomaeus, Otho Cremonensis, Giraldus of Montpellier, Urso, and others, as well as anonymous excerpts and recipes. Thought to be compiled by a German medical student, containing texts originating from the universities of Montpellier and Salerno. Pages [1]-[62] written at the beginning of the 13th cent.; pages [63]-[164] at mid-century.

Some pages are written in columns.

Holes in p. [3]-[4], [52]-[53], [60]-[61], [66]-[68], [154]-[155].

Bound in original blind-tooled white deerskin over wood boards, clasps missing.

Latin; one work translated from Arabic (Hebrew?)
