Cholera Epidemics in the 19th Century

Note
Contains correspondence of Samuel Leonard Abbot with various colleagues about cholera cases in the vicinity of Boston and Cambridge. Correspondents include James Ayer, Artemas Ira Fenn, and William Williamson Wellington. The letters are in response to a survey conducted by the Massachusetts Medical Society Suffolk District Medical Society, Committee to Consider Cases of Cholera to document cases of cholera within "the district" in the season prior to Dec. 1866. Also includes reports written by Charles Douglass Cleaveland and Benjamin Mann detailing the symptoms and treatment of some of their patients with cholera. There are also drafts of reports, a printed circular letter with questionnaire, and miscellaneous data and abstracts attributed to the Committee to Consider Cases of Cholera.
