General note: Caption for "La Vieja" continues: "This mule known by the mule drivers as 'La Vieja - The Aged' and by the rest of us as "L. J." (Long Jaw), has now climbed the Misti about 78 times. Put all together she has thus climbed in perpendicular height over 130 miles which, except for the necessity of similar descents, would have carried her into a somewhat attenuated atmosphere."
